At APR, the safety of our personnel and the public passing through our work zones is our highest priority. We have a strong safety program which is undergoing near constant review to ensure that our policies and procedures are providing the safest environment for all parties.
Training & Certifications
All employees receive the following:
Orientation before starting work
Job specific training
Traffic control and WHMIS by certified in-house trainers
All supervisors receive the following training:
Leadership for Safety Excellence and Principles of Health and Safety Management by the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA)
Additional certifications:
Our safety program manager is a certified peer auditor as well as a National Construction Safety Officer.
Alberta Pavement Repairs holds a Certificate of Recognition (COR) in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
TRAFFIC CONTROL
Traffic is a constant in the road maintenance industry. APR takes the responsibility of controlling traffic through our work zone as one of, if not the most important aspect of our work. As such, we ensure that temporary traffic control plans are designed and implemented by trained personnel.
We provide our crews with the best equipment for controlling traffic. This includes:
High intensity light bars on all vehicles
Electronic Variable Message Boards (EVMBs)
Electronic arrow boards
Spring loaded sign stands
High visibility apparel for traffic controllers and workers.
Large selection of signage and delineators.
